AhlulBayt News Agency: In a phone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi described the United States’ intervention in Israel’s war of aggression against Iran as “its gravest mistake,” warning that such involvement could escalate the conflict across the entire region and beyond.
According to IRNA, Araqchi condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on public infrastructure and residential areas, which he said had resulted in the deaths of Iranian civilians, including military personnel, university professors, and innocent women and children.
He underscored the responsibility of all governments and the United Nations Security Council to take immediate action to halt the aggression, hold the Israeli regime accountable, and ensure it faces consequences for violating international law.
Referring to strikes on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities amid ongoing nuclear negotiations, Araqchi emphasized that these assaults contravene all international regulations and the principles of the UN Charter.
For her part, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand expressed concern over rising insecurity in the region and emphasized that diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving the current crisis.
